As the blisteringly cold weather continued through the second day of February, the LCK Spring Split Day 8 arrived after the Lunar New Year holiday. Fans were as hyped as ever to watch the game after the long break. Fortunately, yesterday’s match-ups were nothing short of exciting: Kongdoo Monster vs. Longzhu Gaming and kt Rolster vs. Afreeca Freecs

The first match between Kongdoo and Longzhu was expected to be fierce. Although Kongdoo’s form in the last KeSPA Cup was formidable, they’ve been off to a subpar start in the spring, struggling to break their losing streak. Longzhu’s performance so far in the season also leaves much to be desired, despite much positive feedback about the rebuilding.

In the second match of the day, the super team kt faced off against the dark horse Afreeca, in which Marin and Spirit reside. It was safe to say that match would be heavily dictated by the two toplaners of each team. With the matchup between Marin and Smeb, who were once arguably the best toplaners of their times, fans were anticipating an exciting and close game.

The final winners of the day were Longzhu, whose dominance shined through, and kt, who kept their cool to take the victory. Here are some photos encapsulating the heat of the arena.
