Lore of Dark Knight's awakening

"Dark Knight, conqueror of infinite power."

They did not try to blend in with society.
Their footsteps, leading away from Kamasylvia, finally stopped in a barren land.
They kept reminding themselves that they are the descendants of a noble goddess; heroes that defended their homeland.
Dreaming of a time where they would one day return home and once again stand as the keepers of Kamasylvia, they endured and trained relentlessly.

With her face covered in sweat, the girl suddenly woke up in the middle of the night.
Terror silenced her, and she was speechless.

She saw in her dream, a figure that seemed like a huge tree.
The tree was wrapped in flame, screaming and writhing in agony.
The flames spread quickly, burning all living things in its wake.
By the time the entire world was covered in fire, the girl felt someone looking down on her.
As soon as she looked up to try and glimpse the figure, the nightmare escaped her.

The girl, having regained her senses, told her sisters about the things she had seen.
No one could help but take her story seriously.
They had to prepare for the upcoming disaster.

They first sent delegates to Kama-Grana.
They had to join forces and come up with a solution together.
But Ganelles, who had been in a dispute against Ahiv until very recently, treated them coldly.
Kamasylvia was returning to its original form as time passed by,
But the conflict between Vedir and Ganelle kept getting deeper.

The girl asserted that someone has to prevent the disaster.
At the same time however, she knew how powerless she would become were she to shy away from Kamasylve, the land full of elemental spirits.
She remembered the fearsome being she saw in her dream.
She needed a source of power, stronger than ever before.

There were many who disagreed with her.
Some even criticized her, saying that she is risking the destiny of this land on a gamble.
Public opinion leaned towards keeping the original method of utilizing the power of natural spirits,
while enhancing the method by amplifying its power and creating more precise skills to better control that power.
They were going through another dispute, this time in the face of imminent danger.

A number of Vedirs came to the girl all the way from the land of thorn.
They were from Ahiv’s clan, which was known to have acquired a power that made them stronger than ever before.
They surely did seem drastically different from the way they were, back when they called each other sisters.

The Ahivs had already accepted the power of Black Spirit that once engulfed their homeland.
They described Black Spirit’s power as “a fountain that never goes dry.”
They looked a bit strange however, as if they were being controlled by something, instead of thinking and acting for themselves.

The power of Black Spirit resembled that of Dark Knight, or more specifically the Vedir.
Black Spirit tried to take over the Vedirs’ minds, just like the Vedir had controlled elemental spirits and took away their power.
Soon, the ones taken over by Black Spirit started to appear here and there.
They went insane after writhing in the agony brought about by Black Spirit’s overwhelming power.
Some went rampant and attacked everything in their sights.
The ones that survived the process soon began to look like the Ahivs that came to them.
Their eyes burned with lust, and the desire to kill.

Luckily enough, progress was made in coming up with new technology.
Their new gear, named Vediant, allowed for more precise control of elemental power.
Vediant was also effective for the ones engulfed in the Black Spirit’s power.

Meanwhile, the girl was still maintaining the fragile balance between her ego and Black Spirit’s.
Allowing Black Spirit to take over would make all her effort be in vain.
She could not rest a single moment.
Black Spirit would eat through her soul right away if she lowered her guard.
She did not know how much time had passed.
Maybe the world was already engulfed in flame.

The girl could finally face the deepest part of Black Spirit, its fundamental core.
There was a dark figure that looked just like the girl herself; it was as if she was looking in a mirror.
Once she reached her hand towards the black figure, it disappeared like dust blown away by the wind.
She felt something within her grasp.

Tales from witnesses on that day describe an explosion, at the far horizon of the barren land, so massive it was as if the sun had fallen to the ground.

The girl opened her eyes, but could not remember anything.
All she remembered was that a huge disaster was coming.
She whispered to herself as she opened her eyes.
“I must protect Kamasylvia.”
