Runaway and TheMeta advance to APEX Season 2

On the second day of Overwatch APEX Challengers, Runaway and TheMeta have qualified into Overwatch APEX Season 2. Afreeca Freecs Red and MVP Infinity will have another chance to qualify into Season 2 on Friday, in which they will go up against the survivors from the losers' bracket.

The match between Runaway and Afreeca Freecs Red have ended in a landslide victory for Runaway. Spearheaded by Haksal's Genji, Runaway did not drop a single set against Freecs Red and ended the match quickly with a 3-0 record. While Haksal's Genji was phenomenal, KAISER's Reinhardt and Kox's situational picks paved the way for Haksal to quickly dispatch Freecs and carry the team into victory. While Freecs Red attempted to counter Runaway's composition through changing a few heroes, it was not enough to turn the tides as the changes came too late.

The match between TheMeta and MVP Infinity also ended in a landslide victory with a record of 3-0 for TheMeta. While MVP Infinity have put up a good fight against TheMeta, Jaetwo's aggressive Reinhardt plays and Sayaplayer's impressive mechanics with various offensive heroes allowed TheMeta to take the first set. While both TheMeta and MVP Infinity often started a set with "Three-tanks" composition, TheMeta's wider set of team compositions allowed the team to cement its advantage in all games and cumulated into a swift victory in the last set.
