Varian Wrynn and Ragnaros join the Nexus

In the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2016, Kaeo Milker, Production Director for Heroes of the Storm, came on stage to reveal the two new heroes joining the Nexus: Varian Wrynn and Ragnaros.

The Fallen King will be the game’s first multi-class hero. He is capable of taking a warrior or assassin role depending on his game-changing talent choices at levels 4 and 10, and offers a total of six different ways to be played. The Firelord, on the other hand, can use his trait, Molten Core, to take over a fort to become a gigantic raid boss. Varian will be available on PTR next week and on the live servers on November 15th. Ragnaros will closely follow in the month of December.

Milker also gave a sneak peak at the new brawl mode, Blackheart’s Revenge, featuring Heroes' first ever attack/defend-mechanism wherein each team has their own distinct win condition. Only one team will have a Core to defend; the other will solely focus on blowing up the said Core.

Last to be announced was the Nexus Challenge: players will be able to earn in-game rewards by enjoying Heroes of the Storm with friends. Playing 15 games with one or more friends will net you an Oni Genji skin in Overwatch and the Zarya hero in Heroes. Playing 30 games with friends will get you even more rewards, including the Orochi Hovercycle Mount and a 30-day stimpack.
