[UPDATED 1/6/2021] Dignitas completes LCS & Academy rosters

Source: Dignitas

Dignitas (Clutch Gaming) ended the 2019 season with a bang, going from 9th place as Clutch in the Spring Split to qualifying for Worlds as Dignitas/Clutch thanks to a much stronger summer. However, the team blew up in the off-season and did not find the same success in 2020. They made a few roster changes themselves throughout this year, and in the Summer Split, they ran a very flexible roster, swapping Academy and LCS players up and down throughout. Going forward, they've made a few changes again. Here is the current reported roster for Dignitas in 2021.

The first thing Dignitas did this offseason was re-sign jungler Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett. Dardoch was acquired from TSM in between splits of the 2020 LCS season and was integral in the team qualifying for the Summer Playoffs, albeit as the 8th seed with a 5-13 record.

Dignitas didn't announce any other roster changes until the start of free agency on November 16. DIG parted ways with top laner Omran "V1per" Shoura, who was acquired from FlyQuest after the 2020 LCS Spring Split, as well as its two mid laners Kim "Fenix" Jae-hoon and Henrik "Froggen" Hansen. It was reported last week that Dignitas was looking to trade AD carry Johnson "Johnsun" Nguyen to FlyQuest, which was officially confirmed by FLY on November 24.

Shortly after Johnsun's trade was made official, DIG announced it would be signing Jimmy Harrison as its LCS Division Coach. Harrison has experience in multiple roles of the Golden Guardians coaching staff, but whether he will be serving as Head Coach in place of Thomas "Thinkcard" Slotkin is unknown.

Thinkcard, top laner Samson "Lourlo" Jackson, jungler Matt "Akaadian" Higginbotham, and support Zaqueri "aphromoo" Black have not been re-signed by Dignitas as free agents, at least officially. However, DIG has not announced a parting of ways with its Head Coach and the three players, so it is possible the organization is still in contract negotiations with the aforementioned parties.

UPDATE 11/25: Dignitas has announced that Max "Soligo" Soong as its starting mid laner for LCS 2021. Soligo made his LCS debut on 100 Thieves, but spent most of his time within the org on 100 Thieves Academy.

UPDATE 11/25: Dignitas has signed Aaron "FakeGod" Lee as its starting top laner for LCS 2021. In his two years with 100 Thieves, FakeGod made his LCS debut briefly but spent most of his time as the top laner for 100 Thieves Academy.

UPDATE 12/7: Dignitas has confirmed their starting 2021 bot laner, promoting Toàn "Neo" Trần from their Academy roster to play in the LCS.

UPDATE 12/8: Dignitas has announced that aphromoo, who is contracted with the organization through November 16, 2021, will remain as the starting support for the LCS squad. DIG's starting five for LCS 2021 has been confirmed. As one of the longest-active players, aphromoo has been slotted as DIG's captain to help mentor its roster's younger talents.

UPDATED 1/6: Dignitas has completed its 2021 roster for Dignitas Academy. Top laner Samson "Lourlo" Jackson, jungler Matt "Akaadian" Higginbotham, and support Juan "JayJ" Guibert will retain their starting positions on DIG Academy. David "Yusui" Bloomquist has been signed to start in the mid lane, and NA Scouting Grounds 2020 participant Trevor "Spawn" Kerr-Taylor will round out the roster as the starting AD carry.
