DAMWON Gaming has defeated G2 Esports, knocking the “best in the west” out of the competition, moving forward to the 2020 League of Legends World Championship Finals.

The LCK champions have proven their dominance as they completely outclassed the opponent in a 3-1 series. For the first time in three years, the South Korean region will be making it to Worlds finals.

With a strong comeback in the second game of the series, G2 Esports showed up to raise hopes of the LEC fans as they broke DAMWON’s 25 win-streak on the blue side, just to get wiped out on the third and fourth game. The latter had been marked the fastest game in Worlds history, ending at 19 minutes and three seconds.

Pouring salt in the wound, DAMWON Gaming was not shy of playing around with banter, spamming FPX’s emote, and after winning the series, mimicking the “water throw” post-match celebration G2 had done after defeating Gen.G.

DAMWON will move on to face the winner of tomorrow’s match between Suning Gaming and Top Esports at the Worlds 2020 finals.
