Hearthstone esports has piqued the interest of one of the largest sports organizations in the world. FC Barçelona, the prestigious football club from Spain, has picked up French Hearthstone player Martin "Zhym" Prête to compete under their banner in Blizzard's Hearthstone Grandmasters league.

The French Hearthstone community has long been one of the strongest and most vibrant ones in the scene, and Zhym is yet another product of that environment. He broke out last year, when he grabbed the silver medal at the Masters Tour event in Seoul. In the last Masters Tour Zhym finished ninth, once again trumping hundreds of other Hearthstone players.

Aside from Hearthstone esports, FC Barçelona has invested in two other titles. The club is an official partner of Pro Evolution Soccer developer KONAMI, and has an active roster competing in the title. As of last year April, FC Barçelona also has a team competing in Rocket League, the steadily growing car-football game developed by Psyonix.
