Source: Riot Games

As of Oct. 4, the play-in stage of the 2022 Lol World Championship which was held in Mexico City for six days was concluded. The top teams in each group headed straight to the main event, while the teams in 2nd through 4th place fought through the elimination round and qualification round.

The top teams in each group were Fnatic and DRX. Fnatic won four games while only dropping one, and DRX won all five games they played. In the elimination round, DetonatioN FocusMe and MAD Lions advanced to the qualification round, but both lost to Royal Never Give Up and Evil Geniuses, respectively. One team from each major region, LCK, LCS, LEC, and LPL ended up advancing to the main event.
